Many students will struggle with homework. You may already see evidence of this. One of the things that ESOL students find difficult is the structure of the English sentence and not all of them are in an English class now.

Demonstrate how you want the
questions answered. Use visuals to
reinforce the idea.

Allow a classmate to explain
the structure to the ESOL student in his first language.
3.
Most ESOL students are eager
to please their teachers; however, they will struggle to complete their
assignments nightly. An extra day could
be an option, depending on the student.
4.
Currently, two
Spanish-speaking aides are available to assist with classroom instruction or
homework.
