Teaching Assistance I

11,12th grade
Prerequisite: 2.0 GPA
Teaching assistance I is for students wishing to be of service to teachers and students at Flanagan H.S., and may be considering a career in the field of education or public and human services. Assistants are assigned to a teacher-mentor who will guide them through many aspects of running a classroom and working in a school environment.


Teaching Assistance II

11,12th grade
Prerequisite: Teaching Assistance I, 2.0 GPA
Teaching Assistances II is for students who may be interested in education as a career, and wish to work with a teacher-mentor in developing a foundation on which to build skills. Teaching assistants will observe, interview, and aid their mentors throughout the semester. Skills obtained in Teaching Assistance I will be used to meet the requirements of this course.



Teaching Assistance III

11,12th grade
Prerequisite: Teaching Assistance II, 2.0 GPA

Teaching Assistance III gives the students a first-hand look at the field of education. Working with teacher-mentors, Teaching Assistants (Executive Interns), will develop lessons, create bulletin boards, observe staff members, and experience teaching a class. All skills developed in Teaching Assistance I and II will be used to complete the requirements of this course.
