BUSINESS AND ENTREPRENEURIAL PRINCIPLES (TP)

This course provides an introduction to business organization, managaement,
and entrepreneurial principals. Topics include communication skills, various
forms of busness ownership and organizational structures, supervisory/management
skills, leadership skills, human resource management, activities, business
ethicss, and cultural diversity. Emphasis is placed on job readiness and
career development. Computer use is an integral part of this program.
Stuents will also participate in computer simulations. This course is
part of the business Supervision and Management Entrepreneurship.

enrolled in, the Business Technology Education core courses (Business
Systems and Technology)

This course is part of the Institute of Business and Entrepre- neurship.

This course provides an introduction to the legal aspects of business
ownership, insurance awareness, governmental regulations, management functions,
human resources management issues, and career development. Computer use
is an integral part of this program. Students will also participate in
special projects and activities including business mentor activities,
community service projects, and computer simulations. This course is part
of the Business Supervision and Management program.

This course provides advanced competencies, activities, and projects to
enhance the Institute of Business and Enterpreneurship program and to
increase students' opportunities for successful employment as an entrepreneur.
The content includes monthly mentor activities, a community service project,
a computer simulation, and other activities that focus on entrepreneurship.

GOVERNMENT

+ Prerequisite: World and American History
+ Note: One half credit of American Government is required for graduation.
This course is paired with IBE Economics.
American Government will provide students the opportunity to acquire an
understanding of American Government and political behavior. Content to
be covered will include, but not be limited to, an examination of the
Constitution, foundations of political power, national parties, the executive,
legislative, and judicial functions, and the impact of government policies
on local, national, and international issues.

+ Prerequisite: World and American History
+ Note: One half-credit of Economics is required for graduation. This
course is paired with IBE American Government.
Economics will provide students the opportunity to learn about the way
in which society organizes and distributes its natural resources to satisfy
unlimited wants. Students will be introduced to the concepts of mixed
economy and how the economic questions of what, how, and for whom are
answered. Content will include using economic principles such as trade
off, economic incentive, division of labor, saving and investing, and
the role of citizens, government, and money in the function of our economy.

THE AMERICAN ECONOMIC EXPERIENCE

+Prerequisite: None
+Note: This course is paired with The American Political System.
This course will provide students the opportunity to study the social
science of economics emphasizing practical applications and decision making
skills necessary to be an informed economic citizen and financially successful
individual. Students will study the American mixed market system, the
global economy, personal finance, financial and investment markets, economic
terminology and its analytical tools. This is a semester course coupled
with The American Political System and will meet the graduation requirement
for economics.
