FLANAGAN NJROTC WINS THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Fifty of Flanagan High School’s finest NJROTC cadets departed the campus after school Friday on a charter bus en-route Orlando to compete in the Annual State Championship competition. After an overnight stay, the cadets started their day of competition at 7:00 a.m. with an hour-long academic test, followed by Personnel Inspection, Precision Drill, Color Guard, Push-Up/Sit-ups, and Track and Field events.

Eighteen (18) schools from around the state qualified for the championship. The day was filled with excitement, particularly during the Track & Field events where the Falcons upset a very fast team from Evans High School (Orlando). Flanagan cadets obtained maximum points in Push-Ups and Sit-Ups. They beat the closest team in Academics by 76 points. They finished “1st Overall” in Academics, “1st Overall” in Athletics, and “2nd Overall in Drill.”

The team finished 258 points ahead of the second place team, Boca Raton – who is the 2006 National Champion “Runner-Up.” Flanagan has decimated the competition all year long, going with five (5) wins and no losses in major sanctioned “regional” competition (all regions of Florida).

A huge congratulations goes out to the Flanagan World Guard!
They travelled to Tampa's Sundome to compete in the WGI South Power Regional and came out on top!
They placed first and received their highest regional score ever.
They are now currently ranked 3rd of all the high schools in the world.
Great job World guard and best of luck as you travel to Nashville Tennessee this weekend!
