As most of you know, the Falcons recently competed against 22 of the Nation’s top-rated NJROTC units in their fifth bid to be the NJROTC National Champions.  The event took place in Pensacola, Florida on 4 and 5 April.  45 cadets spread over five athletic and four drill teams gave it their all in this highly prestigious event.  As a result, the Unit finished 5th overall in the nation, which is very impressive considering there are well over 600 units in this great country of ours!

 

Many of our teams did extremely well, placing in the top 5 positions.  These include:

 

Academic Team – 3rd Place Overall

Athletic Team – 4th Place Overall

Curl-up Team – 3rd Place Overall

Push-up Team – 5th Place Overall

8 x 220 Yard Relay – 2nd Place Overall

16X100 Yard Relay – 2nd Place Overall

Color Guard – 5th Place Overall

Unarmed Platoon Exhibition – 4th Place Overall

 

As mentioned above, all of the cadets did extremely well. However several noteworthy performances deserve special recognition.  Below are the names and awards of these outstanding cadets.

 

 

Mary Velasco – tied for 10th Place Overall, Academics (out of 230)

German Godoy – tied for 11th Place Overall, Academics (out of 230)

Evan Ressler - tied for 11th Place Overall, Academics (out of 230)

Michael Sousa – 4th Place Overall, Curl-ups (315 total curl-ups)

Anas Bahabri – 7th  Place Overall, Curl-ups (300 total curl-ups)

Luis Torres - 10th Place Overall, Curl-ups (280 total curl-ups)

Kassandra Rodriguez – 3rd Place Overall, Curl-ups (290 total curl-ups)

Alejandro Herrera - 7th Place Overall, Push-ups (110 total push-ups)
